What is holistic care and why your pet's wants you to know about it

Having spent most of the last decade explaining to families why a more holistic approach to their pet's care may produce more positive results, it is time to ramp up collaborations with more like minded healthcare providers and help spread the word about the options that are accessible to animal lovers.

I recently wrote a guest blog for Lyka Pet Foods about what is Holistic Vet Care, otherwise known as Integrative Veterinary Medicine, or Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Please note, holism is a continuum or spectrum, many vets, and other healthcare practitioners may see their approach as holistic, so it is important to remain respectful to all.

Not all medicine educations are created equally, people bring their own life experiences and interests to medical or veterinary school. Science is evolving and practitioners are becoming increasingly specialised or developing expert knowledge of specific areas, modalities and disciplines.

Animal health care guidelines are not specific, and must be used alongside veterinary advice tailored to your individual animal.
